Kahler Family: Camp Tontozona

Today we headed up north to take part in the Sun Devil Tradition that is Camp Tontozona. We got up early and took a short drive to pine trees and fresh air and got to watch the Sun Devils play some football.

On Our Way

We got to Camp Tontozona and were surprised at how many people were there. It seemed to us like there was thousands of cars and people were parked for miles. Lucky for us they just opened a new road to park on when we got there and we were able to park right at the top of the hill and only had to walk down the hill to get to the field. The walk down was great, the football players were just starting to come out and we walked towards the field with them. Sparky was there and meeting all of the fans. Tatum was super scared of Sparky today. Hopefully as the season goes on she can get used to him again. Camdyn of course didn't care for him too much either.

Go Devils

We got to walk around a bit and Tatum got to play with her friend Kennedy and see Sparky's Den before the scrimmage started. I was so proud to be a Sun Devil and to see everyone that came out to see the Devils play this morning and watch the team get back to tradition. The scrimmage wasn't too long and ended just in time for us to make it back to the truck before it started pouring huge rain drops. I do have to say that the hike back up the hill to the car was not quite as easy as coming down. Pushing both of the girls in the stroller up the hill sure did give us a workout!!

After the game we went back to the cabin for some lunch with the family. We loved taking in the fresh air and sitting on the porch watching the rain come down. When the rain stopped we took the girls out on a little nature walk to pick some flowers.
