We have been planning a weekend surpirse for Grampa for a while now.... September 24th was his 60th birthday and Gramma wanted to make sure to have something special for him (she has the same birthday as Grampa so it was a great birthday weekend for her too). The last couple of weeks Grampa and Gramma have been visiting National Parks and enjoying the retired life. Grampa was under the impression that they had to be back here by Friday because we needed them to babysit the girls for us. We actually needed them to be back by Friday because Michael, Becky, Ellie and Holden were flying in from Missouri for the weekend.
I think Grampa started getting a little bit suspicious because first off I made lasagna for dinner and I didn't have it ready until 7:15. We usually eat dinner before 6 at our house, so that was a bit strange. And then the secret almost got found out when Matt told Grampa the ASU game was at home this weekend. Grampa was confused why we would be missing an ASU game for something else and why they needed to babysit. Luckily just then the doorbell rang and our guests were there. Grampa was so surprised and we were all so incredibly happy to get to have a few family days together!!
It was so perfect to see the 4 kids play together. Tatum and Ellie had a blast and they played so well together all weekend. They kept saying they were best friends, and could do more things like stay up later because they were older!! Camdyn took a bit to warm up to everyone but Holden is a little ham, he is the life of the party and so darn cute!! Tatum and Ellie had so much fun playing dress up and going to the Princess Ball and doing each others make up. Holden loved playing in the ball bit and chasing Jake and Tank, he sure did love our pets.
Saturday morning we were up early to start getting all the food ready for Grampas party and Becky had a lot of cupcakes to make!! After our busy morning we went to Chick Fila for lunch, then home for some quiet time. After the not so quiet, quiet time we headed to Sparky's lawn for the ASU tailgate. It was a bit hot outside, but the big girls loved dancing, working on their kick line and coloring. Camdyn and Holden had fun running around and drinking green tea!! After a few hours at the tailgate, Grampa and Gramma took all 4 of their grandkids to the park. The kids had a great time and Grampa & Gramma survived!! We stayed at the game and Michael and Becky stayed too. It was so weird not having the girls at the game, but it was fun and a great ASU win!!

Sunday morning we got up to finish getting everything ready for the party and the house decorated. We had a house full of friends and family to help us celebrate Grampas (and Gramma's and Adam's) birthday. Great food, great friends and great times!! A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so perfect!!

During dinner on Sunday night Tatum looked at Ellie and said, you are my best friend and I am going to miss you when you leave. It was so super sweet. After dinner we had a fun bath. I had bought a few bags of glowsticks and turned out the lights and threw the glowsticks in the tub. All 4 kids had so much fun playing with the glowsticks and swirling them around in the water.

Monday, Michael, Becky, Ellie & Holden headed back to Missouri. That day was Gramma and Grampa's birthday and Matt and I's 7 year wedding anniversary, so we had a super fancy dinner of leftovers from the weekend. It actually was all of my favorite things so I was happy :). Grampa and Gramma flew back to Nashville this morning.
We are so lucky that we got to have our house so full of people and love this weekend!!!!
Was the bestest weekend!!!!! We have the best family and friends. XOXO
