Casino Night

Last night we had Casino night at our house.  For Adam's 30th birthday Lindsey had an awesome idea to throw him a party with a casino theme.  She rented 4 tables (craps, roulette, blackjack and poker) and was all set to host the best Casino night ever!!  Then on Friday morning the water heater in their house burst.... In came 19 fans and 2 dehumudifiers.  Sooooo with all of that going on and not wanting to cancel the perfect night she had planned, the party got moved to our house and Casino night was a huge hit!!  Everyone had a blast playing all of the games especially craps.

Everyone "bought in" with $500 and gambled for 3 hours!! Since gambling at a home is just a tad bit illegal we could not gamble for money.  Instead at the end of the night all of the "gamblers" cashed in their chips for tickets and there was a gift card raffle.

Casino Night!!

Even Tatum got in on the fun and played the games.  She had to take a bit of a break to have a cookie but other than that she was gambling the night away.  She moved from blackjack over to Roulette and hit on 3 different numbers there.  Of course she was playing with pink chips, her lucky color!!

Tatum winning big!!

It was so much fun and such a perfect night!!  Everyone was cheering and hollaring and just completely enjoying themselves.  Tatum even won one of the raffle prizes ($50 Target gift card).  She was asleep when the raffle was going on but she sure was excited when we told her she won this morning.

As soon as we were ready today we headed to Target to spend her winnings.  We hit up the dollar spot first.  She is such a great big sister, everything she got for herself she also got one for her sister without me even asking her to do so.  After spending only $8 in the dollar spot we headed over to the toy section.  Tatum found a Barbie car that she really wanted so we grabbed that.  The girls have no Barbies so we had to get two new ones!!  Camdyn picked out ballerina Barbie and Tatum picked out camping Barbie.  We have two super happy girls!!

The Casino Party was a wonderful night and all of the guests had the best time ever and we all can't wait to do it again!!

Fun Family Weekend

This weekend was wonderful.  We had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it!!

We have been planning a weekend surpirse for Grampa for a while now.... September 24th was his 60th birthday and Gramma wanted to make sure to have something special for him (she has the same birthday as Grampa so it was a great birthday weekend for her too).  The last couple of weeks Grampa and Gramma have been visiting National Parks and enjoying the retired life.  Grampa was under the impression that they had to be back here by Friday because we needed them to babysit the girls for us.  We actually needed them to be back by Friday because Michael, Becky, Ellie and Holden were flying in from Missouri for the weekend.

I think Grampa started getting a little bit suspicious because first off I made lasagna for dinner and I didn't have it ready until 7:15.  We usually eat dinner before 6 at our house, so that was a bit strange.  And then the secret almost got found out when Matt told Grampa the ASU game was at home this weekend.  Grampa was confused why we would be missing an ASU game for something else and why they needed to babysit.  Luckily just then the doorbell rang and our guests were there.  Grampa was so surprised and we were all so incredibly happy to get to have a few family days together!!

It was so perfect to see the 4 kids play together.  Tatum and Ellie had a blast and they played so well together all weekend.  They kept saying they were best friends, and could do more things like stay up later because they were older!!  Camdyn took a bit to warm up to everyone but Holden is a little ham, he is the life of the party and so darn cute!!  Tatum and Ellie had so much fun playing dress up and going to the Princess Ball and doing each others make up.  Holden loved playing in the ball bit and chasing Jake and Tank, he sure did love our pets.

Saturday morning we were up early to start getting all the food ready for Grampas party and Becky had a lot of cupcakes to make!!  After our busy morning we went to Chick Fila for lunch, then home for some quiet time.  After the not so quiet, quiet time we headed to Sparky's lawn for the ASU tailgate.  It was a bit hot outside, but the big girls loved dancing, working on their kick line and coloring.  Camdyn and Holden had fun running around and drinking green tea!!  After a few hours at the tailgate, Grampa and Gramma took all 4 of their grandkids to the park.  The kids had a great time and Grampa & Gramma survived!!  We stayed at the game and Michael and Becky stayed too.  It was so weird not having the girls at the game, but it was fun and a great ASU win!!

Best Friends

Sunday morning we got up to finish getting everything ready for the party and the house decorated.  We had a house full of friends and family to help us celebrate Grampas (and Gramma's and Adam's) birthday.  Great food, great friends and great times!!  A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so perfect!!

During dinner on Sunday night Tatum looked at Ellie and said, you are my best friend and I am going to miss you when you leave.  It was so super sweet.  After dinner we had a fun bath.  I had bought a few bags of glowsticks and turned out the lights and threw the glowsticks in the tub.  All 4 kids had so much fun playing with the glowsticks and swirling them around in the water.
Bath time fun!!

Glowstick Crazyness!!

Monday, Michael, Becky, Ellie & Holden headed back to Missouri.  That day was Gramma and Grampa's birthday and Matt and I's 7 year wedding anniversary, so we had a super fancy dinner of leftovers from the weekend.  It actually was all of my favorite things so I was happy :).  Grampa and Gramma flew back to Nashville this morning.

We are so lucky that we got to have our house so full of people and love this weekend!!!!

Rain

We have had a lot of rain at our house the last month.  Last week it really came down on several days.  On Tuesday I was working from home with the girls and it rained basically the entire day.  From about 7am to 2 in the afternoon.  That is a lot of rain for us!!

The girls had been wanting to go outside all day so after lunch it wasn't coming down too hard and we went out to do some splashing around.  Tatum was all about getting wet and loved every minute of it.  Camdyn was a bit nervous at first but her big sis showed her the way :)

Fun.

In the Kahler House we like to have fun.

We took the girls out for a bike ride on Saturday morning.  Tatum is getting so great on her bike.  She doesn't need any help at all. She can steer straight and peddle like a speed racer.  Camdyn likes being out for a stroll and enjoys the fresh air.  Half way through our ride we stopped at the basketball courts, because the girls wanted to run around and then we continued on to the park.  Tatum decided we would play ice cream shop at the park and Camdyn had a blast climbing up and going down the slide all by herself!!  It was pretty humid out that morning, but we didn't let that stop us from having fun!!

ASU

Last week was the first ASU game of the season!!  We got off work a bit early and headed down to Sparky's lawn to tailgate in the Arizona heat and support our Sun Devils.  We had a fun time tailgating even though it was pretty warm out and then headed over to the game.

We had long talks with Tatum about the fireworks and how they are not scary and they are so great to look at.  But all of that talk didn't do much when the fireworks started going off.  She freaked out and hated every minute of it.  Thank goodness for the team shop, she and I got out of the stands for a bit so we didn't have to be around the noise.  Camdyn on the other hand was not bothered by the noise at all.  She just sat and enjoyed the game and got in a good nap.

The game was on a Thursday night so we decided we didn't need to stay the whole time especially since ASU was beating NAU 35-0 when we left half way through the second half.  Hopefully a win like that gives the Devils some momentum for the season!!

So glad football is back and we can't wait for a great year this year Devils!!
