Black Out
Thursday night, October 18 was the ASU football game against the Oregon Ducks. Everyone was super pumped for the game and couldn't wait to Black Out the Ducks.
The game started off good and that was about it. Even though the game went how it did we still bleed maroon and gold and are proud to be Sun Devils!!
We had a fun time tailgating, it was a beautiful breezy afternoon here in the desert and we really enjoyed it!!
After 5 hours of tailgating we headed over to the game. Tatum had a bit of a panic attack when the fireworks started going off and was super scared and wanted to go home. So she and I went directly to the team shop while the game got underway and Daddy and Camdyn went to our seats.
Tatum and I found a great Sparky hat that we both thought would help keep her ears covered and safe from the boomers. Since Tatum got the new hat Camdyn got to wear the Minnie Mouse Ear Muffs. These girls are just too adorable in my opinion!!
We had fun at the game and both girls did really well. Camdyn was on the big screen and looked great. Tatum enjoyed bouncing around our group and eating cotton candy. We left the game at half time since we decided we should get home and get the girls to bed. On the way out we were interviewed by 3Tv, but darnit they didn't show any of our interview, they only showed us walking. I mean I know I made some very important points that probably should have been aired, but now no one got to hear them!!
Proud to be Sun Devils!!

Dirt.
At school the girls do so many fun and different things to help them learn about the world. I love all of the activities they do and that we can help keep the learning going at home.
Last week at school in her class Tatum learned about the earth. They planted a plant and brought it home so we could take care of it and watch it grow. Learning that both too much water and not enough water can be bad for a plant and the same for sunlight. She got to touch worms and feel their squishiness and see how the worms move.
Tatum had a homework assignment last week that she was supposed to dig in the dirt and make an observation log. She had to list where she was digging, who she was with and what she used.
When we got home from school last Wednesday, Tatum, Camdyn and I went outside with our shovels (Tatum in a princess dress of course) to do some dirt observations. First, I had Tatum fill out her sheet and then we got to digging. We tried to dig in one spot but it was too hard and the girls couldn't get their shovels to dig. I asked Tatum what we should do to be able to dig, she said we needed to move someplace that wasn't so tough!! So we then we moved to a different part of our backyard and Tatum and Camdyn were both able to dig away.
While they were digging we talked about what the ground felt like (hard & scratcy), what color the dirt was (brown & white), and what Tatum noticed as she dug (it gets easier to dig, not so many rocks).
We had a great time digging in the yard and collecting specimens for show and share in Tatum's preschool class. Tatum had a great time digging and so did Camdyn, but I think Camdyn especially enjoyed putting sand in her hair!!

Casino Night
Last night we had Casino night at our house. For Adam's 30th birthday Lindsey had an awesome idea to throw him a party with a casino theme. She rented 4 tables (craps, roulette, blackjack and poker) and was all set to host the best Casino night ever!! Then on Friday morning the water heater in their house burst.... In came 19 fans and 2 dehumudifiers. Sooooo with all of that going on and not wanting to cancel the perfect night she had planned, the party got moved to our house and Casino night was a huge hit!! Everyone had a blast playing all of the games especially craps.

Camdyn "making" the cake |
Everyone "bought in" with $500 and gambled for 3 hours!! Since gambling at a home is just a tad bit illegal we could not gamble for money. Instead at the end of the night all of the "gamblers" cashed in their chips for tickets and there was a gift card raffle.

Even Tatum got in on the fun and played the games. She had to take a bit of a break to have a cookie but other than that she was gambling the night away. She moved from blackjack over to Roulette and hit on 3 different numbers there. Of course she was playing with pink chips, her lucky color!!

Tatum winning big!! |
It was so much fun and such a perfect night!! Everyone was cheering and hollaring and just completely enjoying themselves. Tatum even won one of the raffle prizes ($50 Target gift card). She was asleep when the raffle was going on but she sure was excited when we told her she won this morning.
As soon as we were ready today we headed to Target to spend her winnings. We hit up the dollar spot first. She is such a great big sister, everything she got for herself she also got one for her sister without me even asking her to do so. After spending only $8 in the dollar spot we headed over to the toy section. Tatum found a Barbie car that she really wanted so we grabbed that. The girls have no Barbies so we had to get two new ones!! Camdyn picked out ballerina Barbie and Tatum picked out camping Barbie. We have two super happy girls!!
The Casino Party was a wonderful night and all of the guests had the best time ever and we all can't wait to do it again!!

Fun Family Weekend
This weekend was wonderful. We had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it!!
We have been planning a weekend surpirse for Grampa for a while now.... September 24th was his 60th birthday and Gramma wanted to make sure to have something special for him (she has the same birthday as Grampa so it was a great birthday weekend for her too). The last couple of weeks Grampa and Gramma have been visiting National Parks and enjoying the retired life. Grampa was under the impression that they had to be back here by Friday because we needed them to babysit the girls for us. We actually needed them to be back by Friday because Michael, Becky, Ellie and Holden were flying in from Missouri for the weekend.
I think Grampa started getting a little bit suspicious because first off I made lasagna for dinner and I didn't have it ready until 7:15. We usually eat dinner before 6 at our house, so that was a bit strange. And then the secret almost got found out when Matt told Grampa the ASU game was at home this weekend. Grampa was confused why we would be missing an ASU game for something else and why they needed to babysit. Luckily just then the doorbell rang and our guests were there. Grampa was so surprised and we were all so incredibly happy to get to have a few family days together!!
It was so perfect to see the 4 kids play together. Tatum and Ellie had a blast and they played so well together all weekend. They kept saying they were best friends, and could do more things like stay up later because they were older!! Camdyn took a bit to warm up to everyone but Holden is a little ham, he is the life of the party and so darn cute!! Tatum and Ellie had so much fun playing dress up and going to the Princess Ball and doing each others make up. Holden loved playing in the ball bit and chasing Jake and Tank, he sure did love our pets.
Saturday morning we were up early to start getting all the food ready for Grampas party and Becky had a lot of cupcakes to make!! After our busy morning we went to Chick Fila for lunch, then home for some quiet time. After the not so quiet, quiet time we headed to Sparky's lawn for the ASU tailgate. It was a bit hot outside, but the big girls loved dancing, working on their kick line and coloring. Camdyn and Holden had fun running around and drinking green tea!! After a few hours at the tailgate, Grampa and Gramma took all 4 of their grandkids to the park. The kids had a great time and Grampa & Gramma survived!! We stayed at the game and Michael and Becky stayed too. It was so weird not having the girls at the game, but it was fun and a great ASU win!!
Sunday morning we got up to finish getting everything ready for the party and the house decorated. We had a house full of friends and family to help us celebrate Grampas (and Gramma's and Adam's) birthday. Great food, great friends and great times!! A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so perfect!!
During dinner on Sunday night Tatum looked at Ellie and said, you are my best friend and I am going to miss you when you leave. It was so super sweet. After dinner we had a fun bath. I had bought a few bags of glowsticks and turned out the lights and threw the glowsticks in the tub. All 4 kids had so much fun playing with the glowsticks and swirling them around in the water.
Monday, Michael, Becky, Ellie & Holden headed back to Missouri. That day was Gramma and Grampa's birthday and Matt and I's 7 year wedding anniversary, so we had a super fancy dinner of leftovers from the weekend. It actually was all of my favorite things so I was happy :). Grampa and Gramma flew back to Nashville this morning.
We are so lucky that we got to have our house so full of people and love this weekend!!!!

Rain
We have had a lot of rain at our house the last month. Last week it really came down on several days. On Tuesday I was working from home with the girls and it rained basically the entire day. From about 7am to 2 in the afternoon. That is a lot of rain for us!!
The girls had been wanting to go outside all day so after lunch it wasn't coming down too hard and we went out to do some splashing around. Tatum was all about getting wet and loved every minute of it. Camdyn was a bit nervous at first but her big sis showed her the way :)
Right after we came inside we warmed up in the bath and then it was nap time. Right before the girls fell asleep it starting POURING!! We were glad we got in before then!! Such a fun day in the rain!!
