California Family Vacation!!

We love vacations!!  Like seriously love vacations!!  We were lucky and got to have a week long relaxing vacation enjoying the California sun this year!!

We headed off to Carlsbad with Grampa and Gramma & Uncle Michael, Aunt Becky, Ellie and Holden.  Grampa and Gramma had rented a house in Carlsbad that was amazing.  It was completely decked out and so perfect for all of us.  It had a gourmet kitchen, huge bedrooms, an amazing game room with tv's galore and the most perfect backyard with a spa, 2 pools with a slide and even a play set for the kids.  Once we walked in the doors we fell in love with the house!!

The girls could not wait to go to the beach.  So we headed down to the beach on Sunday night.  It was cold and windy and we did not stay long, but I think they really enjoyed it!!

We spent the week not doing a whole lot.  We would wake up in the mornings and have family breakfast.  Then Matt, Michael, Becky and I would head out for a bike ride.  The bike rides were great but very hilly!!  It was so cool to ride and see the ocean and enjoy the beautiful breeze!!  The last day we were there we did a 22 mile ride.  For Matt that is no big deal but that was the farthest I have ever ridden and I definitely felt accomplished after that!!  Then we would come home for some pool time.  While the girls rested we worked on our tans and then would have more pool time and family fun in the evenings. 


Tuesday night we drove over to Mission Beach.  We cannot go to San Diego and not go to Mission Beach and have some pizza and enjoy the sunset!!  We had a great time and the girls loved riding some rides!!

Wednesday we spent the day at Sea World.  It really was the perfect day!! Not too crowded, not too hot.  We got to see all of the shows and ride all of the rides.  I think the girls favorite part was the Dolphins for sure!!

Journey to Atlantis

We headed to Oceanside on our last night there and we had an absolute blast playing in the ocean and jumping the waves!!

It was so nice to go on a vacation and actually relax.  Our vacations are usually so go go go that we come home being tired and needing another vacation.  But this time we actually got to rest and just enjoy our family!!  We are so thankful that we got to spend the time with our family that we don't get to see that often.  Time to plan next years vacation :)

Baby Veeh Gender Reveal

We are so incredibly excited that another baby is going to be coming into our family, we could not be happier for Adam and Lindsey to become parents, they truly are going to be amazing!!

Adam and Lindsey decided to find out the sex of the baby and wanted to let our whole family know together and of course we always love a party!!  So Emma and I got to work on putting together a special gender reveal party for them.

The house was covered in pink and blue and everyone was instructed to wear the color (pink or blue) that they thought baby Veeh would be.  Most everyone showed up in blue, there was hardly any pink!!  Think we all thought it must be a boy since there are already so many girls in our family!!

We had the whole family over and went outside where we had a box filled with balloons that would reveal if baby Veeh was a boy or a girl.

The box opened and out came pink balloons!!!!  We are so excited for Adam and Lindsey and cannot wait to meet that sweet baby girl!!!!

Camping

Last weekend we loaded up the car and headed up North to enjoy a weekend in the woods with some of our best friends!!

The 4 of us left Friday morning and were on a mission to find a perfect camping spot.  We usually go up to Woods Canyon to camp but when we got there we quickly realized there would be no camping there because it was covered in snow!!  Tatum and Camdyn had never been to the snow before so we took a little bit of time to let them experience a bit of snow in their shorts and sandels!!

Then we were back into the truck to find a spot to camp.  We drove down and checked out a campground but they wanted too much money so we kept searching.  We turned off the road and then really turned off the road and after getting almost stuck in the mud having to use 4 wheel drive to get out of there we decided we better head back down a little bit.  We ended up camping at the Christopher Creek campground and it worked perfectly.  We got 2 sites and got the tents set up right away and went off to the Creek to check it out.

More of our crew got there about dinner time and we made hot dogs and burgers by the fire for dinner.  Tatum got to make a s'more before bed, lucky girl!!  It was pretty cold the first night and Camdyn did not sleep well.  She was snuggled up with her Daddy half the night in his sleeping bag.  Luckily Tatum slept great!!

Saturday morning the Ekrens got there and our camping crew was complete.  We spent the day enjoying the weather, playing horseshoes, golfing, chopping wood and going on a nature hike.  It really was a great day and the girls had so much fun exploring and getting SUPER dirty!!

Sunday morning we got up and closed up camp and fit in one more game of horseshoes where Matt and Marcus were still the champions!!  We are so happy we got to have a super fun weekend of camping and that our girls had such a great time!!

Now that both Tatum and Camdyn have roller skates they love to go out and skate down the street and practice their skills.  They went out last week with Gramma and Grampa and this weekend Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Doo-Doo came over to see them skate.  The girls have so much fun and are getting better every time!!

Camdyn's 2nd Birthday

Camdyn had a wonderful day on her birthday!!  She decided she wanted to be up and start her party as soon as it was February 4th.  So she woke up about midnight and was awake until about 2:30am.  As long as her Daddy or I was in there she was fine but if we left she would cry.  So I layed down in there with her and she was just so darn cute. She would stare and me and then talk and laugh and giggle.  Our girl was ready for her birthday!!

Camdyn got to take cupcakes in to share with her friends at school and she loved being the center of attention in class!!

I got off work a little early to spend the afternoon with the girls.  We went out for a special treat of frozen yogurt, the girls so love picking out their own toppings!!  Then we went to 2 parks in our neighborhood and ran and played and had so much fun!!  Then it was home for an apple while we watched Beauty and the Beast. 

After Daddy got home we went out to meet some family at Olive Garden.  We had a nice dinner (the girls had macarroni & cheese and grapes, a favorite) and at the end we all sung happy birthday to Camdyn.  It was so cute.  The waitress put some whip cream and chocolate sauce in a small bowl surrounded by mints and put a candle in the bowl.  Camdyn had the cutest smile ever on her face while we sang and she was adorable while she blew out her candle.

We then went home for her cookie dough cake and her present!!

Camdyn had her 2 year check up on Wednesday.  Taking her to the doctor is never fun, she is just not a fan.  I love our pediatrician, she is absolutely Amazing!!  I always feel so awful the the minute we walk in the door and Cam realizes the appointment is for her she begins to scream and the crocodile tears being to roll down her sweet little cheeks.  This visit was no different.  But luckily the doc did her exam fast and she did not get any shots so maybe next time she won't be so scared at the doctor!!  Camdyn is now 29 pounds and 33.5 inches.  She is just growing so fast!!

Camdyn's birthday fun continued on Saturday with a family birthday dinner.  She had a great time playing with everyone.  It was a cold day so Matt put a fire in our firepit and she was not a fan.  It was so cute she sat on my lap but made me cover her eyes with my hand like a visor.  Her eyes must of just been too sensitive for the flames ;).  She got such great gifts and she is so lucky to have such wonderful family who care about her so much.  We ended the night with cookies and cream cupcakes and cookie dough balls.  Delicious if I do say so myself!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our beautiful Camdyn Breeze.  Wow cannot believe 2 years have gone by since we welcomed her into this world and our family.  What an amazing day that was!!

Camdyn is doing great at talking.  She is constantly talking and singing.  Sometimes she puts on her rockstar face and sings her little heart out, it is adorable!!  We are working on potty training right now.  She does pretty great going on the potty and staying dry for several hours.  Hopefully she gets the hang of it fast so we can say goodbye to diapers for her!!  Camdyn loves bananas and sweets.  She would eat 8 bananas a day if we would let her.  That girl definitely has her Great Gramma's sweet tooth and would eat sweets for every meal if she could!!  Camdyn is usually a very good girl.  Sometimes she does hit but guess that comes with her age and we are working through it.  After she hits thought she always kisses you and says she is sorry without having to be told to do so, so guess we are moving in the right direction.  Camdyn loves to dance and play with her big sister.  Camdyn always wants to be doing what Tatum is doing and does follow her example.  We are so thankful that Camdyn and Tatum have each other, they are so very lucky!!  Camdyn loves to run and jump and spin and play, she is so active and loves to sit and have "conversations" with us.  Her favorite movie is Tangled and she can watch it over and over again and be so involoved like it is her first time watching it every time!!  Such a fun happ,y bubbly, sweet girl!!

Sweet Camdyn you are so cute and so smart.  Every single day we look at you and just cannot believe how perfect you are.  We love you more than anything and could not be more proud of you each and every day!!  Happy Birthday Beauty!!
