Weekend Fun.

We had another fun weekend here in the Kahler house!!

It started off with yardwork on Saturday and Matt did an awesome job getting both the front and back yard looking awesome!!  He fixed the drip system, moved rock around and worked on the lawn.  Everything looks so great!!  I got to go to lunch with Stacey and enjoy a few hours out while Matt and the girls stayed home to play.

Tatum was invited to her friend Xavier's birthday party and it was at Chick-Fil-A.  We were not sure what to expect, but it was a wonderful idea and so much fun!!  Half of the restaurant was reserved and every chair had a balloon on it and each friend got a cup full of fun treats.  The kids played in the play area for a while and then they all had kids meals.  There was also drinks and a platter full of nuggets and fresh fruit for the adults!!  The kids enjoyed the food and then of course there was cupcakes.  The frosting was BLUE and all of the kids faces and hands were blue, it was pretty cute.  The Chick-Fil-A cow came out to see the kids and they all loved it.  All of the kids except for Camdyn that is.  The cow walked up to her and she looked a little scared, just staring at him, but then he went to touch her and she FREAKED out!!  It was complete terror for our little one.  I felt awful for her.  The cow darted away pretty fast, but everytime the cow got in Camdyn's line of sight she tensed up a bit.  Tatum had a great time at the party, such a fun time!!

The weather was beautiful on Saturday night so we spent some time in our backyard.  So lucky that we can enjoy our backyard and the girls swingset.

Sunday morning we got up and did some work around the house and then it was off to Grampa and Gramma's for a day of fun.  It was a pretty windy day but we enjoyed a good part of the day outside, which was so nice.  We got to relax and have our lunch outside.  Then we went for a family bike ride.  Matt and I are wanting to get bikes so we rode Grampa and Gramma's to test them out for a bit and we brought the girls bikes so we could all be out together.  Camdyn had a blast and loved cruising along.  Tatum was not that into it, she kept thinking she was going to fall off so she walked/had Grampa carry her for half of the way.

All set for our bike ride

So much fun!!

After our bike ride we had some play time and then got ready to go swimming.  Grampa and Gramma's pool is heated but was a bit chilly since it was so windy out.  Camdyn was not to sure about the pool at first, but she got used to it and had fun playing with the rings.  Since the girls haven't swam for a few months it took Tatum a bit to get back into feeling comfortable in the water, but she has gotten so tall and can walk pretty far out.  She walked all the way until the water was up to her neck.  She loved playing in the water.    She slipped her face in the water a couple times on accident but she didn't cry she just stood right back up.  Right before we got out she even went all the way under the water!!  Grampa had her "trapped" with a swim noodle and I told her she had to go under it to get out.  So she plugged her nose just like her Daddy taught her and I grabbed her hands and pulled her under the noodle.  She did AWESOME!!  I didn't think she would let me do it, but she did, we were so proud of her and I think she was even more proud of herself!!

Tatum is getting more and more into writing.  She is having fun writing her name and others too.  She has already improved on her name so much since last week!!

So fast

Our girls are growing up so fast.  Seriously it is amazing to see how much they change each day and how fast they are growing.

Tatum is honestly just so loving.  She is always there with a hug and an I love you.  It is my favorite part of the day when we will just be playing or eating dinner and she runs up with a big hug, squeezes me tight and says I love you Mommy.  Those are the best words ever.  Tatum has started calling Camdyn Sis.  She is like, "sis come here" or "sis, I love you".  It is so sweet the way she calls her sis and always wants to play with her.  They are seriously lucky to have each other, and to love each other so much.

Camdyn is growing by leaps and bounds.  On Sunday she decided that she is now a full time walker (well a 90% of the time walker anyway).  It was like she went to sleep being a crawler and woke up Sunday morning and said I have had enough of this, today is the day that I become a walker.  She is so good at it.  Her legs are so cute when she walks around.  She walks everywhere, all around the house, after her sister, I even asked her to take something to her Daddy and she did!!

It is really sweet to see how much Camdyn wants to be like Tatum, the last few days we have noticed her doing things that Tatum does. After bath we of course put lotion on the girls, sometimes Tatum puts it on herself.  I had the lotion just sitting on the floor and Camdyn went over to it and acted like she was pressing some out and started rubbing her belly, Matt and I had a good laugh while she continued to do it. And yesterday afternoon Tatum was brushing her hair and then she gave the brush to Camdyn and Camdyn started to brush her own hair too.

Now that Camdyn is a walking machine she is getting ready to change rooms at school. She will no longer be in the baby room!! This means she will be on more of a scheduled routine, she will eat her meals at the big kid table and she will go from sleeping in a crib during nap time to sleeping on a bed, and she will also get to go outside everyday (which she will LOVE). This is going to be a big change for her, but I know she is up to it. She went down to the big kid room yesterday afternoon and did well, no crying when Miss Lindsey left her there. I went and picked her up from that room yesterday and she just looked so little with all of those kids. Not size little, just little when compared to all of those kids in there walking around.. It is probably harder for me to see her changing rooms then it is for her. We have just been so spoiled with Camdyn spending her days with Miss Lindsey because they really do have a special bond and we have taken such comfort in that. I know the teachers in her new room will be great, it will just be an adjustment for us all with this transition!!

Tatum has been working really hard on writing. We work on writing everyone's name in our family each afternoon. She is starting to remember some letters. She knows her name has 2 T's. Last night she told me her name is spelt t-u-m-t-u-m. I told her that was close but not quite right so we worked on it. She knows Camdyn's name starts with a C and that Daddy and Doo-Doo start with a D. We are working on the full spelling, but she is doing great to start :)

We are so proud of our girls and how amazing they are, we truly are so lucky to get to spend our lives with these two little beauties!!

Big Girl Room

Since we moved into our house last February we haven't done much with Tatum's room.  This weekend it was finally time to get her a big girl room.  My parents had some furniture that was my Gramma's; a dresser a night stand and 2 twin beds.  Tatum has had the dresser for awhile, my Mom had stained it for us when Tatum moved into the toddler bed before Camdyn was born.   We decided we wanted to have white furniture in her room since Tatum told us she wanted pink on her walls.  Earlier this week Gramma came over and put 2 primer coats and one top coat on the furniture.  Tatum and I put another paint coat on it all yesterday (I let Tatum paint the inside of the beds and she had a great time).

We went to home depot Saturday morning hoping we could just match the paint to the bedding that we had picked out.  But of course all the different things we brought in to be matched couldn't be found, so much for that idea.  After being at home depot for 2 hours we settled on some paint and crossed our fingers that it would turn out how we pictured.  We picked Tink Pink and Bubblegum Pink...... Bring on the PINK!!

We got home had some lunch and Matt and Gramma started painting the room while Tatum and I worked on the furniture and Camdyn took a nap.  The paint turned out perfect on the walls after a 6 hour painting day.  Matt and Gramma worked so hard to make it perfect.  We put the beds in last night and loved how it was turning out.

Before the paint.

All set to paint.
Checking out the beds before we got mattresses.

This morning we moved in the rest of the furniture and painted the handles for the dresser.  We went and got mattresses for the beds and the room came together.  We are so incredibly happy with how the room turned out, it is perfect for our 2 little princesses.  Of course it will be awhile until Camdyn is sleeping in there with Tatum because she is still in a crib in her room.  As of now Tatum is so super excited to sleep in her new big girl room.  It will be a HUGE step for her if she does sleep in there tonight.  Keeping our fingers crossed that she keeps up her excitement and is able to sleep in there at least part of the night to start!!

Family Time in Missouri

Last weekend we were able to go visit our family in Missouri.  It was so fun seeing Michael, Becky, Ellie and Holden, we had a blast!!

We were up bright and early on Thursday morning and headed to the airport with Gramma and Grampa.  The girls were so super excited to be heading to see their cousins!!  The flight to Missouri went great, Camdyn sat with Matt and I and Tatum sat in the row behind us with Gramma and Grampa.  Camdyn fell asleep before we even took off and Tatum had a great time coloring a lot of pictures for everyone.  Tatum is getting really good at drawing people.  She likes to draw people wearing hats, too cute :).  Tatum had a bit of a hard time with her ears while we were descending, so I went back and sat with her and rocked her a bit and she fell asleep for the last few minutes of the flight.

We got to Missouri and were starving so we stopped at McDonalds and had a picnic in the car.  It was almost a 3 hour drive to Michael and Becky's house and both of the girls did great on the ride.  When we pulled up Michael, Becky, Ellie and Holden were all standing outside waiting for us.  Tatum had been so excited to get there and when we finally did she became a bit shy.  It was so great getting hugs from our adorable neice and nephew, love them so much!!  We got a quick tour of the house and then relaxed.  Tatum and Ellie had an awesome time playing.  It was so fun seeing how well they got along and how much fun they had together.

The first night we didn't get much sleep because there was a big rain/hail storm that came through.  Luckily the girls slept through it, but Matt and I were up most of the night listening to it rain.  We just aren't used to those kind of storms I guess!!  Friday morning we woke up and the kids were ready to play!!  We spent the day just hanging out and playing inside, since it was pretty wet outside from the storm the night before.  The kids had a great day!!
They are so cute!!

Play time!!

Friday night Matt, Michael, Becky and I went out to dinner and left the kids home with Gramma and Grampa.  We went to a restaurant called Prison Brews, it was really awesome food and we all left feeling stuffed.  Then we drove around a little bit and saw the city.  It was such a fun night for the 4 of us.  The kids had a great time too, and Gramma and Grampa survived the 3 hours we were gone.  We came home and Tatum and Ellie had made up a dance so they showed us.  Then Camdyn decided after seeing Holden walk all day she would give it a try.  Cannot believe she started walking.  It was so awesome seeing her take those steps and she was so super proud of herself because we all clapped and cheered for her!!

Ready to head out.

Best Cousins

Saturday we got up and had a photo shoot with the kids.  Becky made all 3 girls the cutest flapper dresses and Holden was decked out in a hat and tie.  It certainly was hard trying to get pics of all 4 of those moving kids at once.  I think we got some pretty cute pics though.  Camdyn was all about getting her picture taken, so adorable!!

We were able to go outside and enjoy the fresh air after we got bundled up in our winter clothes.  Tatum and Ellie had fun in the car driving around.  Camdyn was taking a nap while we were outside playing.  Ellie and Holden have the same swingset as the girls do, so it was fun to see them all play together!!

Aunt Becky made Tatum and Ellie some M&M hot chocolate (YUM!!) and then they went downstairs with Gramma to watch a movie.  While the older girls were watching their movie we did a little photo shoot with Camdyn and Holden.  They were born on the same day just 30 minutes apart so we did some birthday cupcake photos.  The photos turned out so awesome!!

That night we had tacos for dinner and just enjoyed some family time and watching our kids play.  Camdyn did a lot more walking and Tatum had such a blast playing with Ellie.
We had a great trip and we are so lucky that all 10 of us got to be together for the weekend.  Cannot wait until our next family get together!!!!
